An Overview about MBA Programme
The MBA Programme is the Flagship Programme of "Indian School
of Science & Management".The programme aims to produce world-class
business leaders, attention will be paid to see that they are
matured enough to work in work group & teams.
This programme lays the foundation for conceptual and analytical reasoning and gives the students an insight into the dynamics of business environment. The course material and design are oriented towards current and emerging issues in management.
ISSM's programme prepares the students to manage and lead in global business scenario, which is getting increasingly complex and dynamic. To meet the challenges the students require keen perception, flexibility and the ability to merge management theories into action plans, slicing through management jargons, the one area that has to be practiced on a moment-to-moment basis. The secret is to have global perspective, while at the same time be aware of local conditions. AT " ISSM" our management practitioners are more comfortable with latest technology and be sensitive to the importance of ethical and human values.
ISSM's faculty members keep themselves updated on present management realities by virtue of their extensive involvement in research and consultancy.
There is a strong emphasis on project work as a part of regular course. While working on projects students are required to interact with managers from the industry. A student graduating from "ISSM" would have carried out one major project, 2 mini projects and one summer internship.
Developing skills to lead and teamwork is the important facet of the programme. This anticipates practices in many of today's successful organizations. AT ISSM we mentor the students to be strong team player and learn the leadership qualities.
The interactive skills of effective communication, conflict management, negotiation and mobilizing individuals towards common goals are the essential ingredients of effective management. Regular group discussion and discussion forum with the industrial leaders will enable the students to voice out the opinion and this will be the best practice for them.
The MBA programme lasts four semesters spread over 2 academic years. The first year students are exposed to basic concepts
in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management,
Quantitative Methods, Operations and Behavioural Sciences through
the 'Core Courses'. These lay the foundation for all the functional
areas of management keep develop problem-solving skills.
In the second year, students specialize in functional areas of their interest. There is a great emphasis on their application of knowledge gained in the form of projects, group exercises and case discussions. Guest lectures supplement regular course work. Students are encouraged to take up dissertation work and do projects on "Contemporary Concerns" under the guidance of faculty.
Programme structure:
The entire package consists of 29 theoretical papers and 2 projects. The classroom package consists of fundamental courses, core and integrated course and specialization course. The syllabus of each course structure is modified from time to time according to the industry needs and as recommended by the academic council and board of studies.
Method of Instruction/teaching:
The faculty employs the latest techniques in teaching and training the students. The methods used are: Classroom Lecture, well prepared teaching contents with OHP, Power point presentations, Case Studies, Seminars, Group Exercises, take home Assignment, Presentation of written reports, business and behavioural games. There are guest lectures from professors from leading universities and corporate leaders.
Attendance, Evaluation and Grading:
Each class session is for 90 minutes. A student must have at least 75% attendance in each course in order to be allowed to sit in the examination in the respective course. In order to inculcate organizational discipline among the student and to make the learning process more effective, attendance has made compulsory.
The evaluation process of faculty is continuous, varied and rigorous. Performance of the students in each course is evaluated through devices such as class participations, written examination, online exams, quiz competition, seminar, home assignments, group discussion, case presentations, projects and final comprehensive examination.
The maximum marks allotted for each course is 100. These 100 marks are distributed between internals and final examination in the ratio of 25:75.
A student submitting his / her project, reports of industrial internship is expected to make a seminar presentation and undergo a viva-voce examination.
On the basis of total marks obtained by the student in each course, grades are determined and these grades represent the final awards for the respective course.

Placements are the strategic component of MBA programme at ISSM.
We assure 100% placements. The placement cell is overseen by the Director 'ISSM' and assisted
by the placement committee consisting of Placement Coordinator,
Assistant Placement Coordinator and Student Representatives
manages these activities. Placement committee contacts corporate
organizations through visits and placement brochures etc. ISSM
invites companies to hold 'Campus Interviews'.

Certified financial planner is an international certificate conferred by finanical planning Standards Board,India.The cerficate is recongnized across 23 countries in the world and the charter members of FPSB,India include reputed MNC like Citibanks,HSBC,HDFC,Max NewYork Life,Deutsche Bank.etc..Who have declared in public that first preference would be given to CFP certificate as and when recruitment needs arises in the area of financial planning.
